Victory Day celebrated in Jamalpur

The Victory Day was with due dignity. The district administration organized a wreath-laying ceremony at the Martyrs' Monument in the Dayamoyi area of the city on Monday morning as the sun rose.
The ceremony began with the wreath-laying ceremony by Deputy Commissioner Hasina Begum. Then, the District Freedom Fighters' Congress led by the brave freedom fighter Sirajul Haque, Superintendent of Police Syed Rafiqul Islam, Civil Surgeon Dr. Fazlul Haque, District Council Executive Officer Munmun Jahan, Central BNP Joint Organizing Secretary and District BNP General Secretary Advocate Shah Md. Wares Ali Mamun, leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliates, Shachet Nagorik Committee (Sanak) Jamalpur and various government and non-government organizations, political, social, cultural and voluntary organizations paid floral tributes at the Shaheed Smritmambh. Meanwhile, on the occasion of Victory Day, various programs have been organized including a Victory Fair at the city's Zilla School Ground and a reception for the brave freedom fighters at the District Shilpakala Academy.
Victory Day celebrated in Melanda
On the occasion of the Victory Day with due dignity in Melanda after the sunrise with 31 cannon shots, wreaths were laid at the Swadhinata Mancha to pay tribute to the martyrs and then the freedom fighters were welcomed with flowers.
At 9:30 am, Upazila Nirbahi Officer S.M. Alamgir inaugurated the victory fair. Various political, socio-cultural organizations, including BNP, and educational institutions participated in the program organized by the upazila administration. This is the first time that Jamaat-e-Islami has held a separate victory rally at 10:30 am.
In addition, a documentary film screening based on the Liberation War, a drawing competition for children and adolescents, and cultural and discussion meetings have been organized.
At 11 am, a discussion meeting and prayer mahfil were organized in the Muktijoddha Sangsad by martyred freedom fighters and freedom fighters. The meeting was presided over by UNO S.M. Alamgir.
Former District Freedom Fighters' Association Commander Syed Harun Or Rashid, Principal Shafiqul Islam, Officer-in-Charge Masuduzzaman, Social Service Officer Arifur Rahman spoke, while Abul Hossain, Alhaj Kismat Pasha, Abdul Khalek, Ishaq Ali, Shahidullah Tara, President of Reporters Unity-Ittefaq correspondent Shah Jamal, among others, spoke on behalf of the freedom fighters.
In addition, there have been reports of similar programs being held in other upazilas.
