Victory Day celebrated in Barguna

On the occasion of Victory Day in Barguna, the district administration, Barguna Press Club, Barguna District Print Media Journalist Forum, Barguna Journalist Union, Reporters Unity, along with politicians, journalists and various professional individuals paid tribute to the brave martyrs by placing flowers at the Barguna Mass Grave and Circuit House Memorial.
On Monday, the Victory Day programmes were inaugurated with the hoisting of the national flag in all government institutions and the firing of 31 cannons as the sun rose. At 7 am, Deputy Commissioner Md. Shafiul Alam and Superintendent of Police Md. Ibrahim Khalil, along with Additional Deputy Commissioners, Additional Superintendents of Police, Executive Magistrates, District and Upazila BNP leaders, students of the anti-discrimination movement, government-non-government organizations, socio-cultural organizations, political organizations, and others paid floral tributes at the Martyrs' Memorial.
At this time, a minute of silence was observed and prayers were prayed for the souls of the martyrs. Later, the mass grave and Circuit House Martyrs' Memorial were opened for people from all walks of life to pay their respects to the martyrs.
At this time, people from all walks of life turned into crowds at the Martyrs' Memorial. After placing wreaths at the Martyrs' Altar, they paid tribute to the memory of the martyrs through prayers.
In the fourth phase of the program, the national anthem was performed and the national flag was officially hoisted in front of the Barguna District Commissioner's office.
In addition, Victory Day programs were celebrated at other upazila levels of the district. And there are also various arrangements throughout the day.
