At a Milad and Doa Mahfil marking the second anniversary of the July Uprising was held on Tuesday at Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC).
Routine Chairman Prof Dr. Machuma Habib called for collective efforts to build a discrimination-free Bangladesh based on justice.
Emphasizing that the uprising was a shared victory of the people—much like the Liberation War—Habib highlighted government efforts to treat injured victims and address mental health support.
During the event, UGC member Prof Dr. Abdullah Al-Mamun urged the previous regime to apologize and face transparent trials rather than push conspiracy theories, warning that failure to do so would block their political return.
Other UGC officials called for unity over political division, ongoing support for the families of martyrs, and policy initiatives to empower youth and reform the education sector.
