Two DU students awarded 'Firoza Begum Memorial Gold Medal'

Two meritorious students from Dhaka University’s Music Department—Nurejannat Afris and Arpita Dey—have been awarded the 'Firoza Begum Memorial Gold Medal' for securing the highest CGPA in the B.A. Honours examinations for 2022 and 2023, respectively.
Additionally, 11 first-year undergraduate students received the 'Firoza Begum Memorial Scholarship' for the 2023–2024 academic session.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. A.B.M. Obaidul Islam handed over the gold medals, checks, and certificates at a ceremony held at the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on Tuesday. Paying tribute to the legendary Nazrul Sangeet singer, the VC urged students to embody Firoza Begum's artistic values and contribute to building an enlightened society.
