Locals have detained four people while they were illegally entering Bangladesh at night at the Banatara border in Shankarpur Union, Dinajpur Sadar Upazila.
They were arrested by locals from Shalki Moizhakuri village of Shankarpur Union at 6 am on Wednesday. They were later brought to the Union Parishad. Among those arrested are 3 men and a woman.

Quoting locals, he said that they entered Bangladesh through the Bantara Gilabari border at night. In the morning, locals saw them moving around in the village of Shalki Moizhakuri and detained them for questioning. Later, they were brought to the union parishad. I spoke to their local public representatives and families. They told me that the arrested people go and come to India in search of work. However, their families said that they do not know how they go and come.
Lt. Col. Arifuzzaman, commander of Phulbari 29 BGB, said, "This is not a push-in incident. This is an infiltration incident. We are interrogating them."
