
July martyrs, freedom fighters honoured in Satkhira

An event featuring a discussion meeting, crest presentation, and cultural program was held in Satkhira to honor the families of July martyrs and July freedom fighters. Organized by the district administration, the program took place on Tuesday at the Satkhira District Shilpakala Academy.
Satkhira Deputy Commissioner Mostak Ahmed presented crests of honor to the families of July martyrs and to the July freedom fighters.
Speakers at the event included Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Bishnupada Paul, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Monirul Islam, Principal of Satkhira Government College Professor Abul Hashem, District Jamaat Ameer Vice Principal Shahidul Islam Mukul, District Jamaat Secretary Maulana Azizur Rahman, District BNP Member Secretary Abu Zahid Dabloo, City Shibir President Al Mamun and Md. Zillur Rahman, who was injured during the July movement.
At the event, the district administration officials presented crests of honor to 4 members of martyr families and 97 surviving freedom fighters.
The ceremony concluded with an enchanting cultural performance.
Government officials, freedom fighters, members of martyr families, cultural activists, and people from various walks of life attended the event.
