Human chain demanding punishment against village police for embezzlement of money in name of mosque construction in Raipur

Locals have formed a human chain against village police member Delwar in Raipur, Lakshmipur, on the charge of alleged embezzlement of several lakhs of taka in the name of constructing a new mosque building.
The hour-long human chain was formed in front of Raipur Shahid Osman Chattar on Saturday morning. After the human chain, they demanded exemplary punishment by arresting the fraudulent village police member Delwar and his associates.
Helala Uddin, Mahadi Hasan Arif, Mainuddin Chishti, Abdul Ahad Mamun, Billal Hossain and Suman Howlader spoke in the human chain, seeking the cooperation of the administration.
At this time, the speakers said, the fraudulent village police member Delwar had embezzled about 1 million taka from various mosques in our area three years ago, saying that he would construct a new mosque building with foreign donations. When we asked for the money for this mosque, he threatened us by talking about various Awami League leaders, we are now requesting the administration to arrest this fraudster and recover the money for our mosques.
UNO Md. Imran Khan said, the victims have filed 5 separate complaints against Village Police Delwar for embezzlement of money. Legal action will be taken after investigation.
