Protests in Noakhali over BNP leader's indictment

Leaders and activists of local BNP, its affiliates and affiliated organizations have formed a human chain and protested against the conspiracy to charge Char Elahi Union BNP leader Ismail Tota of Companiganj upazila in the Bijoy murder case in Begumganj, Noakhali.
The human chain and protest march was held at Char Elahi Bazar of the upazila at 11 am on Saturday.
Former president of Char Elahi Union BNP Hossain Member, former general secretary of Union BNP Abul Khael Master, organizing secretary of Union BNP Nurul Huda Master, member secretary of Companiganj Olamadal Maulana Ayub Ali, BNP leader Md. Ismail Hossain Tota and others spoke at the event.
They said that the popular chairman of Char Elahi Union Parishad, Abdul Matin Tota Chairman, was publicly killed by terrorists. The mastermind of the murder, Fakhrul Islam, who came to BNP from Jamaat, conspiratorially made BNP leader Ismail Tota an accused in a murder case about 60 kilometers away to save the accused in the Tota murder case. The speakers demanded the immediate withdrawal of the false conspiracy case filed against Ismail Tota.
Liton Dewan, OC of Begumganj Police Station, said, "A case has been registered based on the complaint of the plaintiff. Whether the BNP leader has been accused of conspiracy can be said after the investigation. Further legal action will be taken after the investigation."
