Discussion and Prayer Ceremony Held in Faridpur for Martyr President Ziaur Rahman's Death Anniversary

A discussion and Milad Mahfil was held on the occasion of the 44th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, organized by Faridpur City BNP at the Journalist Liaquat Hossain Auditorium of Faridpur Press Club on Saturday.
The programme was presided over by the convener of City BNP, AFM Kaiyum Jangir, and moderated by joint convener Emdadul Haque Emdad. The chief guest was young industrialist and social worker Chowdhury Farian Yusuf.
Faridpur District BNP joint convener Golam Rabbani Bhuiyan Ratan, City BNP member secretary Golam Mostafa Miraj, joint conveners MT Akhtar Tutul, Nasir Uddin Ahmed Milar, Mizanur Rahman Minan, Upazila BNP general secretary Nazmul Hasan Chowdhury Ranjan, City Jubo Dal leader Nahidul Islam, Jiya Moncho organizational secretary Sajjad Hossain Shaon, Nitai Roy, and other leaders and activists were present.
In his speech, the chief guest, Chowdhury Farian Yusuf, said, the name of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, the announcer of Bangladesh’s independence and the founder of multi-party democracy, is deeply intertwined with the name of Bangladesh.
He further said that even after 17 years of struggle, we have not been able to establish democracy. The interim government has not yet announced a roadmap for elections. The people of Bangladesh want their voting rights restored.
Later, a prayer and supplication were held seeking forgiveness for the soul of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.
