A two-day district conference of the Communist Party of Bangladesh ( CPB) has begun in Gaibandha with the pledge to prevent imperialism, communalism.
The conference began on Thursday afternoon at the Gaibandha Municipal Shaheed Minar premises. The conference was inaugurated by the teacher of Dhaka University, the central member of the Communist Party, economist Professor MM Akash. At the inauguration, leaders of CPB of seven upazilas of the district participated. The conference will conclude through a council session on Friday.

Shahadat Hossain Lakur presided over the meeting as the guest of the party's central assistant general secretary Mihir Ghosh, central member engineer Nimai Ganguly. District Committee General Secretary Mostafizur Rahman Mukul spoke at the conference, convener Sadekul Islam, convener of the conference preparation committee. The conference was presented by Muradjaman Rabbani, Assistant General Secretary of the District CPB.
In the inaugural address, economist Professor MM Akash said that the common people of this country have given their lives on the highway for discriminatory, exploitative, democracy and voting rights. But a group of people have plundered the dream of a non -discriminatory, exploitative society. He said that despite the fall of the fascist through the mass uprising of the students of the 2021, fascism is rejuvenating again. If this fascism cannot be terminated, the people will not get the benefit of the mass uprising of the 20th. He called for the formation of free and non -communal Bangladesh, including the United States, China, India.
Speaking on the special guest, Mihir Ghosh said the fascist Sheikh Hasina's government was forced to quit power in the coup. People expected a positive change. But the one -year -old actions of the interim government have become frustrated. Bribery, corruption, looting, extortion, extrajudicial killings are going on as before. Mob terrorism, including violence against women in the country, has increased. The US imperialist attraction and tendency to give state support to the extremist communal groups are concerning the people of the country. The CPB believes that there is no alternative to forming a leftist democratic government against discrimination to form a society against them.
On the occasion, a huge flag came out and circled various roads in the city. Earlier, the national and party flags were hoisted through the national anthem at the Shaheed Minar premises
