Prophet’s arrival brought light to humanity: Quader Gani
Staff Correspondent
Quader Gani Chowdhury, secretary general of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ), has said that the arrival of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) brought light and guidance to all of humanity, offering a path to peace in this world and salvation in the hereafter.
He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a seminar held in the capital on Saturday morning in observance of Eid-e-Miladunnabi, marking the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Chowdhury said that Almighty Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) sent the Prophet (PBUH) to this world for the peace and salvation of all creation. “With his arrival, a world engulfed in darkness and misguidance found light and hope. The forgotten path to the Creator was rediscovered, and humanity received the ultimate message of truth,” he said.
He mentioned that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the final messenger in the chain of prophethood, and his message—centered around the oneness of Allah—spread across the globe, dispelling falsehood and idolatry.
“The message of Tawhid, ‘La-Ilaha Illallah’ (There is no god but Allah), echoed around the world. Mankind was shown the path of truth, peace, and salvation,” he added.
The BFUJ leader further said that with the end of worship to false deities like Lat, Manat, Uzza, and Hubal, people were guided back to the worship of the One true God.
The children of Adam once again bowed their heads before their Creator, leaving behind the darkness of man-made beliefs, he said.
Quader Gani Chowdhury described Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as the most perfect human being, embodying all the noble qualities bestowed by Allah. Quoting Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), he said, “The life of the beloved Prophet was a living Quran. Islam was perfected with his auspicious arrival.”
He stressed that the key to success, salvation, and liberation—both in this life and the hereafter—lies in following the ideals, teachings, and exemplary character of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). “It is the duty of every human being to follow his path if they truly seek peace and eternal success,” he said.
Highlighting the Prophet’s (PBUH) universal appeal, Chowdhury said that even scholars and thinkers of other faiths recognized his greatness. “Christian historian Michael H. Hart ranked Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as the greatest man in history in his book The 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History. British writer George Bernard Shaw once said the world desperately needs a man like him,” he mentioned.
Chowdhury also underlined the Prophet’s (PBUH) character, stating that Islam does not teach revenge. “Even if you search the doctrines of the world, you won’t find a second example of such mercy and forgiveness. The Prophet (PBUH) always responded to hatred with kindness and never returned evil with evil,” he said.
The seminar was chaired by the Sajjadanshin of Ahla Darbar Sharif, Maulana Shah Sufi Syed Muhammad Emdadul Islam.
Among others, Mufti Syed Muhammad Mainul Islam Junaid, freedom fighter Alhaj Muhammad Mustafa Kamal, Alhaj Shahidul Islam Babul, and Haji Selim Ahmed Salem, were also present.
