
BRUR Chhatra Dall protests rape

The Begum Rokeya University (BRUR) unit of Chhatra Dall organized a protest demanding strict punishment for rape, online bullying, and violence against women at 2 pm on Monday in front of the university's main gate.
During the protest , speakers demanded the highest punishment—capital punishment—for rapists. They expressed concern over the increasing incidents of rape and violence against women in the country, calling it a dangerous signal for society. They emphasized that ensuring exemplary punishment for rapists is necessary to guarantee women's safety.
Present at the protest were BRUR Chhatra Dall convener Al Amin, member secretary Md. Rashed Mondal, student leader Yamin and youth rising leader Md. Sumon khan , and students from various departments, including a significant number of female participants. The speakers asserted that ensuring women's safety is the responsibility of the state and urged authorities to take strict action against perpetrators. Throughout the event, participants chanted slogans against rape and demanded swift justice.
Speaking at the event, BRUR Chhatra Dall convener Al Amin stated, “We have gathered here today to raise our voices against a grave societal disease. Rape, violence against women, and online bullying have reached alarming levels. Every day, our mothers and sisters are subjected to oppression. Unfortunately, many perpetrators escape justice. We want to make it clear—there will be no leniency for rapists. The only suitable punishment for them is the death penalty.
Al Amin called on all students to unite and take a stand against rape.
