DU admin takes matter of student victim of dress-related harassment with utmost importance

The Dhaka University administration is in regular contact with the student victim of the dress-related harassment.
The university administration is ensuring the safety of the concerned student and providing all possible assistance.
Recently, Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan met the victim and inquired about her physical and mental condition.
Dhaka University Proctor Associate Professor Saifuddin Ahmed received a written complaint from the student on March 5. Taking the matter seriously, he requested the university librarian to take immediate action in this regard. In view of this, the librarian formed a three-member fact-finding committee that night to uncover the true incident. At the same time, the accused employee Mostafa Asif Arnab was temporarily relieved of his job.
On the day of the incident, the university proctor sent a team and summoned the accused employee to the office. Later, upon initial investigation, the accused employee was handed over to Shahbagh Police Station and instructions were given to the concerned authorities to take up the case.
Dhaka University considers the safety of students, especially female students, with utmost importance.
