BRTA strengthens monitoring, awareness drive in Jashore for Durga Puja, National Road Safety Day
Sohrab Hossain, Jashore
The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has stepped up public awareness initiatives and field monitoring across Jashore to ensure safe and hassle-free travel for commuters during the Sharadiya Durga Puja festival.
Organized by the BRTA Jashore Circle to mark National Road Safety Day on Thursday the operational drive is being conducted across key locations in the city, including the Jashore Central Bus Terminal.
As part of the program, banners and drop-down displays have been installed at prominent road intersections and terminals. In addition, updated fare charts were provided to transport counters, and educational leaflets on road safety were distributed directly to passengers.
Officials stated that the drive aims to guarantee smooth passenger transit, raise public awareness about transport services, and ensure compliance with government-mandated fare rates.
A joint monitoring team—comprising representatives from the BRTA, the Bangladesh Police, Jashore Pourashava, transport owners' associations, and labor unions—is actively managing operations at the central bus terminal, with monitoring activities scheduled to continue throughout the festive period.
