A vested quarter has been allegedly  trying to grab 16  decimal Waqf property located  in Baluchar Mouza, Sirajdikhan in Munshiganj, SA Khatian No. 277, RS Khatian No. 1131, SA Dag No. 2487, RS Dag No. 3254 

The allegation goes  against Haji Ismail and  son of Haji Johar Ali, of Khasmahal Baluchar village in Baluchar union of the upazila.

Local sources say that in 1969, Haji Johar Ali and Mohammad Ali registered 16 percent of the land as a waqf for Muslims to offer Eid prayers. For a long time, Muslims offered Eid prayers there. Later, due to lack of space, the Eidgah was shifted to another place. In 1993, Mohammad Ali and Monozara Begum registered 47 percent of the land as a waqf. Since then, Haji Ismail Hossain, a son of Haji Johar Ali, has been trying to occupy 16 percent of the former waqf land by forcibly renting it to people. At one stage, he tried to build a building there. Based on a written complaint by a local resident named Kamal, a court ban was imposed and the construction work was stopped at one stage. Now, he has continued the process of occupying the remaining land by planting trees and fencing it.

Kamal Hossain, father of Ali Mia, a resident of Khasmahal village, who filed a complaint in court against Haji Ismail Gong, the court issued a ban on the construction of structures on this waqf property. Now again they are trying to occupy the property by fencing it and renting it to people. My case is pending in court, No. 233/2023. I will go to court again on this matter. He also said that there is an unpaid public welfare-oriented children's education institution there. Some education enthusiasts in the area established it in 2002. Recently, there is a plan to sell it and build it with a new initiative. They are also trying to occupy the tin house of the institution.

Belayet Hossain, son of accused Haji Ismail Hossain, said, "Our case against Waqf is ongoing in the court. You take information from the court." When asked about the encroachment, he said, "We have been occupying this property for a long time. Come and see, we have an old tin house here."
