Barishal Metro Jamaat's mass rally : Accept election thru' PR method, giving importance to public opinion: Principal Babar

Jamaat-e-Islami Central Working Committee Member and Barishal Metropolitan Ameer Principal Maulana Zahir Uddin Mohammad Babar has called for the immediate acceptance of the five-point demands announced by Jamaat-e-Islami, including the peer system, after evaluating the public opinion.
He made these remarks in his speech at the pre-mass procession organized at the city town hall as part of the program announced by the center on Friday to realize the five-point demands.
He further said, there has been no good election in Bangladesh in the 54 years of independence, in most of these elections, the public opinion could not be reflected, that is why Jamaat-e-Islami is opposing the election in the conventional manner. If there is PR, there will be no more elections of 10 hunnas and 20 goons, that is why the vested interests do not want to accept PR. The students gave their lives to run the country according to the right to vote and the opinion of the people of the country, ignoring that public opinion, if the government moves towards any conspiratorial election, the people will resise.
The program, moderated by Metropolitan Secretary Maulana Matiur Rahman, was also addressed by Central Majlish-e-Shura member and Barisal District Amir Professor Abdul Jabbar, Metropolitan Nayeb-e-Amir Professor Mahmud Hossain Dulal, Assistant Secretaries Master Mizanur Rahman, Muhammad Atiqullah, Tariqul Islam, Secretary of Barisal Metropolitan Shibir Abdur Rahman Sujan, and Barisal University President Aminul Islam.
Metropolitan Executive Council members Maulana Habibur Rahman, Maulana Shafiullah Talukder, Shamim Kabir, Zafar Iqbal, Mahfuzur Rahman Amin, Kaunia Thana Amir Maulana Mostafizur Rahman and other leaders were present.
After the rally, the huge procession started from the Town Hall premises, passed through Sadar Road, Fazlul Haque Avenue, Chawkbazar, Line Road and returned to the Town Hall, ending with the closing speech of the presiden.
