Anti-dengue drive in Ctg Khulshi area: Larvae found, fined

A mobile court conducted an anti-dengue drive in the Khulshi area of Chattogram city on Tuesday, targeting residences, rooftop gardens, and under-construction buildings to inspect for mosquito breeding grounds.
During the operation, Aedes mosquito larvae were found in stagnant water under two under-construction buildings. The owners of these buildings were fined a total of BDT 20,000. Additionally, three individuals were fined BDT 15,000 for conducting business by illegally occupying footpaths. In total, fines amounting to BDT 35,000 were collected.
To raise public awareness on dengue prevention, officials distributed leaflets and sprayed mosquito-repellent chemicals in the area.
The drive was led by Chattogram City Corporation’s Executive Magistrate Chaiti Sarbavidya, with assistance from relevant city corporation staff and the Chattogram Metropolitan Police.
