An advocacy meeting was held in Fulbara to allocate a climate-resilient and youth-friendly budget.
An advocacy meeting on climate-resilient and youth-friendly budget allocation was held at the Kurigram Phulbari Upazila Parishad meeting room on Monday under the chairmanship of Upazila Executive Officer Rehnuma Tarannum and moderated by Udayankur Sheba Sangstha Project Coordinator Rabiul Islam.
Present at the event were Phulbari Upazila Health Complex Junior Consultant Gynaecologist (Acting) Dr. Mosha Rozina Akhter, Upazila Cooperative Officer Bidu Bhushan, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Mahatab Hossain, Upazila Information and Technology Officer Ajmal Absar, Upazila Rural Development Officer Umme Kulchum, Primary Education Officer Akbak Kabir, Assistant Youth Development Officer Abdul Rahman, Upazila Public Health Engineering Department representative Sameer Kumar Barman, Upazila Women's Affairs Department representative Mohi Uddin Ahmed, Program Officer Nurunnabi Islam and many others.
Youth expectations from the administration: Allocate at least one rainwater harvesting tank in each union and apply for project assistance, dig or renovate at least one pond in the union and important places of the upazila for firefighting, analyze the need for dredging the Dharla River to protect biodiversity and coordinate with the Water Development Board and the Ministry of Shipping, establish 6/7 climate information centers in the upazila and appoint climate volunteers, allocate budget for construction of rest rooms for patients in union health and family welfare centers and community clinics, undertake projects related to solar panels, solar pumps, solar incubators to increase the use of renewable energy, install 50 eco-friendly dustbins in market areas, arrange for public toilets in Phulbari, Kharibari and Balahat markets, keep a budget for construction of separate washrooms for women in shelters and plant at least one lakh saplings for greening.
