Two arrested by mob in Abdur Rahim killing in Jamalpur

An angry mob has arrested two suspects in the public murder of Abdur Rahim member in Islampur, Jamalpur, after they were taken out of their house and identified as law enforcement officers. They were handed over to the police on  Monday morning. 
 
The arrested are Md. Salam (50), son of Azahar Sardar of Jigatola village of Kulkandi union of Islampur upazila, and Md. Chan Mia (35), son of Subahan Ali of Char Haroabari village of Chugaibari union of Dewanganj upazila.
 
On the midnight of June 28, an unknown group of people, posing as administration officials, took Abdur Rahim from Jigatola village of Kulkandi union in Islampur upazila and hacked him to death.
 
The situation in the area was tense. Upon receiving the news, senior law enforcement officials rushed to the spot. The entire area was in mourning. Finally, the agitated residents of the area came together to identify the killers and help the administration.
 
Islampur Police Station OC AFM Atiqur Rahman said, the police and PBI along with detectives have entered the field. Locals including local UP Chairman Anisur Rahman have cleverly arrested the two suspects through a public wash and handed them over to the police. The next step will be taken after questioning the detainees."
