Tourist-free Kuakata, nature regains own beauty
Saumitra Suman, Payra Port (Patuakhali)
Since the beginning of Ramadan, the tourist-free Kuakata beach has been adorned with a new look. Nature has regained its own beauty. The number of guest birds has increased at Kauar Char and Mira Bari points on the beach, and their chirping has become a buzzing sound all around.
Thousands of oyster shells are spread on Char Gangamati beach, and a white layer has been created across a vast area of the sand. This is a natural scene. The free roaming of red crabs on Crab Island on the east side of the beach is worth seeing. Their scurrying and running on the sand will captivate any nature lover.
In addition, various medicinal trees and forest plants, including akanda, have grown in the reserved forest adjacent to the beach. The vibrant colors and fragrance of new flowers on the branches of the trees are spreading a charming atmosphere. The waves of the sea have also become more colorful with the arrival of the monsoon.
Ibrahim Hossain, a motorcycle driver from Kuakata, said, "Due to the fewer tourists, our movement on the beach has also decreased. However, a tourist came from Khulna yesterday, and I showed him around the entire beach. It seems that nature has returned to its normal form. The number of guest birds, red crabs and oysters has increased.
Local fisherman Rahman Mia said, "A large number of oyster shells have washed up on Gangamati beach. This is a truly wonderful sight.
Abul Hossain Raju, joint general secretary of the Tour Operators Association of Kuakata, said, "Due to the fewer number of tourists during the month of Ramadan, the nature of the beach has returned to its original beauty. The number of red crabs and guest birds has increased, as well as new flowers have bloomed on the trees in the reserved forest. Only tourists who come after Eid will be able to enjoy this beautiful sight."
Kuakata Tourist Police Inspector Ahaduzzaman said, "After Eid, millions of tourists will arrive in Kuakata. They will be able to enjoy this new look of the beach. We are ready to provide maximum security to the arriving tourists.
This beautiful decoration of nature in Kuakata, which is devoid of tourists, has opened a new horizon for nature lovers. After Eid, Kuakata will once again be bustling with tourists, but only nature's own inhabitants will have the opportunity to enjoy this peaceful, natural beauty."
