State Minister for Water Resources inspects preparations for PM's Feni visit

State Minister for Water Resources Farhad Hossain Azad MP visited Feni district on Monday.
He inspected the Kheyaghat in Parshuram Upazila, the area along the banks of the Muhuri River and the proposed road meeting place on the occasion of the Prime Minister's upcoming visit to Feni.
He exchanged views with the concerned officials and local administration on the overall preparations for the Prime Minister's visit.
He said that the people of Parshuram and adjacent areas of Feni have been very enthusiastic about the arrival of the Prime Minister. All the concerned departments are working in coordination to complete the Prime Minister's visit smoothly, safely and beautifully.
He said that the project undertaken by the Ministry of Water Resources is very important in solving the long-standing problems of flooding, waterlogging and river erosion of the people of the Muhuri-Kahua river basin. If the project is implemented, there will be positive changes in the livelihoods, agriculture, business and trade and overall socio-economic activities of the people of the vast riverside area. In addition, people's lives and property and agricultural land will be better protected from flood damage. The approved cost of the project is Tk 1,542 crore, as mentioned in a recent report.
Feni-1 MP Munshi Rafiqul Alam (Majnu), Feni-2 MP Prof Joynal Abdin, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mahbubul Karim, Water Development Board, local administratiof the concerned departments were present.
