Major General Abdul Motalib Sazzad Mahmud, Director General of the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, urged newly inducted cadre officers on Sunday to align their personal career aspirations with institutional objectives while prioritising national interests over personal ambitions.

The Director General made the remarks during a formal reception and introductory session held at the conference room of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) headquarters in the capital to welcome 19 newly appointed officers of the 45th BCS (Ansar) cadre following their official joining at the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Welcoming the new officers, Major General Sazzad Mahmud highlighted that Bangladesh Ansar and VDP stands as the nation's largest community-engaged disciplined security force, boasting nearly 60 lakh members across Battalion Ansar, Embodied Ansar, General Ansar, and VDP-TDP units. He emphasized that while each component plays a distinct role, their collective contributions remain vital to national security, public order, and community welfare.

The Director General noted that the organization's responsibilities extend beyond maintaining law and order to encompass social security, disaster management, humanitarian assistance, and grassroots socioeconomic development. He instructed the new officers to foster close communication with field-level personnel, understand their operational experiences, and demonstrate integrity, discipline, and empathetic leadership.

The meeting was attended by Additional Director General of the force Brigadier General Mamunur Rashid, alongside other senior headquarters officials. Expressing optimism regarding the officers' future roles, senior leadership called upon the inductees to utilize their professional expertise to bolster institutional efficiency and public service delivery.
