A seminar titled “Different Strategies of CV Writing” was organized by the Management Information Systems (MIS) Department Hub of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR).

The seminar was held on Wednesday in the MIS department's Gallery Room. The event aimed to provide students with insights into crafting an *attractive and effective CV.

The keynote speaker of the seminar, Samsul Alam, Associate Professor of the MIS Department said, in today’s competitive job market, a well-structured CV plays a crucial role in securing employment. He emphasized that students should follow a professional format while keeping their CV concise yet informative and engaging. He also demonstrated how to prepare a CV, résumé, and biodata through practical examples*.

The seminar featured special discussions by Lecturer Mohammad Rakibul Islam Bhuiyan from the MIS Department and Lecturer Niaz Makhdum from the Public Administration Department.

Lecturer Mohammad Rakibul Islam Bhuiyan highlighted that a CV serves as the first impression for employers. He explained that a CV should be designed in a way that enables recruiters to easily assess the candidate’s skills and experience. He also demonstrated how to create a CV tailored for securing full funding opportunities at foreign universities.

Lecturer Niaz Makhdum emphasized that an effective CV requires more than just presenting information. He pointed out the importance of proper structure, relevant content, and skillful use of language in CV writing.

During the seminar, students received hands-on training on CV writing. Their CVs were analyzed to identify weaknesses, and practical solutions were provided for improvement.
