9 departments of DU ranks first in QS subject-based world rankings, advanced in two categories

For the first time in history, nine departments of Dhaka University have been ranked in the subject-based world rankings of UK-based education and research organization Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).
Last year, 6 departments of Dhaka University were ranked. QS released the list of subject-based rankings on Wednesday.
According to the QS report, Dhaka University is ranked 100 steps ahead of last year in the engineering and technology category, ranking between 401 and 450 in the world ranking. The Computer Science and Information Systems department included in this category is ranked between 551 and 600, Engineering-Electrical and Electronic department is ranked between 501 and 550, and Engineering-Mechanical, Aeronautical department is ranked between 501 and 575.
In the Social Sciences and Management category, it is currently ranked between 401 and 450 worldwide, up 50 places from last year. Accounting and Finance, which is included in this category, is ranked between 251 and 300, Business and Management Studies is ranked between 401 and 450, Economics and Econometrics is ranked between 351 and 400, and Sociology is ranked between 301 and 375.
In the Life Sciences and Medicine category, Medicine is ranked between 651 and 700. In the Natural Sciences category, Physics and Astronomy is ranked between 551 and 600.
In the Arts and Humanities category, it is ranked between 501 and 550.
