Coast Guard detains two with 40,000 Yaba tablets in Teknaf

The Bangladesh Coast Guard detained two suspected drug traffickers and seized 40,000 pieces of Yaba tablets worth approximately Tk 2 crore during an early hours raid in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar on Sunday.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon informed about the successful operation in a press release on Sunday noon.
The press release said, acting on a tip-off, a specialized team from Coast Guard Station Teknaf conducted a targeted drive near the Keruntoli Culvert area under Teknaf Police Station around 1:00 AM on Sunday . During the operation, law enforcers intercepted a suspicious mini pickup truck.
Upon conducting a rigorous search of the vehicle, the Coast Guard team discovered the massive cache of contraband Yaba tablets cleverly concealed inside the pickup's fuel tank. The estimated market value of the seized narcotics stands at around Tk 20,000,000.
The Coast Guard seized the Yaba tablets along with the mini pickup used in the smuggling attempt and detained two drug peddlers from the spot.
Legal procedures regarding the seized narcotics, the vehicle, and the detained individuals have been taken.
