
Top criminal, dacoit leader Sahab Ali held for attack on RAB

RAB has arrested notorious criminal and robbery ringleader Sahab Ali of Siddhirganj, Narayanganj, who had been on the run after attacking RAB personnel. The arrestee, a resident of Ati WAPDA Colony in Siddhirganj, had long been terrorizing the area through extortion, armed robbery, drug trade, and intimidation.
On Thursday RAB-11 Commanding Officer Lt. Col. H. M. Sajjad Hossain confirmed the arrest at a press conference. Earlier, a joint team of RAB-11 and RAB-9 arrested him on Wednesday (October 15) evening in Mannanghat area of Jamalganj police station, Sunamganj.
Lt. Col. Sajjad said that on the night of September 30, RAB-11 conducted an operation in the Bow Bazar area of Siddhirganj to arrest Sahab Ali. During the operation, Sahab’s gang ambushed RAB personnel, injuring four members. Taking advantage of the chaos, Sahab fled. Five separate cases were filed against him, including charges under the Anti-Terrorism Act and for obstructing government duties.
