Tk 50,000 fined for cutting topsoil in Hathazari

The upazila administration fined 50,000 taka under Balumhal and Soil Management Act, 2010 to Mohammad Hossain, son of Anwar Hossain, on the charge of cutting topsoil of agricultural land from Tulatuli area of Garduara Union of Hathazari Upazila of Chattogram at around 10 pm on Saturday.
Hathazari Model Police Station assisted in the operation under the leadership of Executive Magistrate (UNO) AB M Mosiuzzaman. For a long time there have been complaints of cutting topsoil by destroying agricultural land in different parts of the upazila.
The upazila administration warned law-abiding persons to refrain from cutting topsoil without destroying the agricultural land.
