Protest march of 11-party alliance in Meherpur demanding implementation of Referendum

A protest march has been held in Meherpur demanding implementation of referendum verdict. The procession started from the premises of the District Model Mosque on Sunday afternoon led by District Jamaat Secretary Iqbal Hussain.

 

Later, the procession circled the main roads of the city and visited various important areas and ended at Shamsujoha Park. Later, District Jamaat Secretary Iqbal Hussain, Jamaat Shura member Abdur Rouf Mukul, Sadar Upazila Amir Sohel Rana, Municipal Amir Sohel Rana Dollar, Mujibnagar Upazila Jamaat Amir Jahan Ali, Gangni Upazila Jamaat Amir Dr. Md. Rabiul Islam, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis District Secretary Abdul Gaffar, Chhatra Shibir District President Abdul Salam, NCP District Branch Joint Coordinator Arif Khan. The speakers said that the verdict given by the people through the referendum must be implemented quickly. If the people's opinions are ignored, democracy will be damaged. If the demands are not given importance, more stringent programs will be given in the future. At this time, they urged everyone to remain united in the movement. A vigilant presence of law enforcement forces was seen in the city centering on the procession.
