Police seized drugs, weapons in special operation in Savar, 4 arrested

Police arrested 4 people, including drug dealers and active members of a robbery gang, in a special operation in different places in Savar.
5 kg of ganja, 250 grams of heroin and local weapons were recovered during this time. Additional Superintendent of Police (Savar Circle) of Dhaka District Shahinur Kabir gave this information at a press conference at Savar Model Police Station on Wednesday afternoon.
Savar Circle Shahinur Kabir said, in the last 24 hours ending Thursday, Savar Model Police conducted a special operation and arrested a drug dealer named Falan (45) with 5 kg of ganja from a house owned by Tushar Chowdhury in Madhyapara of Kaundia Union. In addition, when a raid was conducted at the house of identified drug dealer Joharul Islam in Konda area, Joharul Islam fled after sensing the presence of the police. However, 250 grams of heroin were seized during a search of his house.
The estimated market value of the seized ganja and heroin is around Tk 2.6 million. On the other hand, three members of a robbery gang named Monir (22), Ohidul Islam Arif (20) and Hridoy (21) were arrested with country-made weapons from Sakin Taltala More area of Chunarchar area of Bhakurta Union in Savar. Later, the arrested were sent to court in the afternoon.
