Since the former prime minister left the country , many leaders of the district including minister, MP and District Awami League General Secretary have gone into hiding in Rajbari. The people of the district do not know where these leaders are now.
It has been reported that the Minister of Railways and Member of Parliament for Rajbari-2 Constituency and District Awami League President Md Zillul Hakim left the country on 11th July for an official visit to Vietnam and Japan.
He remained in Vietnam until July 14. He then stayed in Japan from 15th July to 24th July. He arrived in Bangladesh on July 25 after his visit to Japan.
The quota movement continued in the country while the railway minister was visiting Vietnam and Japan. At that time, he came to the country and gave a statement to the media about the damage to the railways. The minister did not come to Rajbari during the quota movement. He last came to Rajbari on 5th JulyAfter that, Sheikh Hasina's government fell on August 5. At that time, houses of various ministers, MPs.and Awami League activists were set on fire and vandalized across the country. Similarly, there is violence in the royal palace. The angry crowd attacked and vandalized the house of the Railway Minister in Pangsha Narayanpur area.
According to a source, the railway minister is now staying in Dhaka. But no one could confirm whether he is in NAM Bhawan in Dhaka or somewhere else. He has not had any contact with party leaders.
According to party sources, Alhaj Kazi Keramat Ali, Member of Parliament for Rajbari-1 Constituency and President of the Parliamentary Standing Committee of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, came to Rajbari from Dhaka on July 31. On August 5, she along with her daughter, district Jubo Mahila League president Kaniz Fatima Chaiti stayed at Rajbari. On the afternoon of July 31, the district Awami League office gave a speech against the anti-quota students in an event. On August 3, ordinary students protested in Rajbari with 9 points of demand In the afternoon of that day, the Awami League and its affiliates, led by Rajbari-1 Constituent Member of Parliament Kazi Kermat Ali, took out a protest march from the district Awami League office.
The procession was held in Panna Chatwar area by the leaders and activists of Jubo LeagueThe students were chased and dispersed.The next day on August 4, the government party people did not allow ordinary students to enter the field in Rajbari. On that day too, Member of Parliament Kazi Keramat Ali marched with activists in Rajbari and took a stand in the city. Then Kazi Keramat Ali and his daughter were staying in Rajbari until noon on 5th AugustBut on hearing the news of the fall of the government, they disappeared from the district town. No one in the party knows where they went. But according to a detailed source, Kazi Keramat Ali has left for India.
On the other hand, the younger brother of Member of Parliament Kazi Keramat Ali, Kazi Iradat Ali, is the district general secretary of Awami League. He is known in Rajbari town as Mejo Bhai. He is physically ill. Kota was in Rajbari since the beginning of the movement. Although he was not very active in politics after his illness, his leadership attacked common students on August 4 and August 5 in the quota movement of Jubo League, Swachhasebak League and Chhatra League.
He left his house on August 4 and took a car and stayed at Barapul intersection. He monitors everything. When the news of the fall of the government spread that afternoon, he tried to escape from home with a car in the afternoon. At that time he was blocked by the angry crowd. The angry mob vandalized his car and beat him up. PS Rinku who was with him was also beaten up by the angry crowd. Later, the locals convinced the angry crowd and brought Kazi Iradat Ali out. Later they left with the car. They have not been found since then.
The angry mob ransacked Qazi Iradat Ali's house and set it on fire. Also torched jute mill owned by Kazi Iradat Ali, vandalized oil pump.Also, Rajbari District Awami League Vice President Fakruzzaman Mukut, Vice President Mohammad Ali Chowdhury, Vice President Vir Muktijodha Fakir Abdul Jabbar, Vice President Akbar Ali Morji, Vice President Hedayet Ali Sohrab, Municipal Awami League President Wazir Ali Sheikh, General Secretary Shafiqul Islam and other leaders of the district went into hiding.
