The bicycle shed roof of Haribhanga Natana Sabdalpur Kumar Khali Thalna Secondary School (commonly known as Haribhanga High School) in Ashashuni upazila was blown away by a sudden storm .

The cyclone caused extensive damage to the shed, rendering it unusable.Established in 1970, this well-known educational institution currently has 320 students, with 12 teachers and 6 staff members. Most of the students travel several kilometers by bicycle to attend classes.

The estimated loss from the damage stands at approximately Tk  2.75 lakhs.

Students of grade nine, Abu Huraira and Mukti Sarker, expressed their concerns:"Since the shed was destroyed, we’ve faced serious trouble with our bicycles. In the scorching sun, tires are getting punctured and parts are overheating. When it rains, everything gets soaked.

"Headteacher Sukumar Mondal said, the  shed was built to provide a secure place for students to keep their bicycles. Now it’s completely damaged. The situation is dire, but we currently lack the funds for repairs.

Md. Billal Hossain, the president of the school’s ad-hoc managing committee, said, the cyclone caused an estimated loss of Tk  275,000.

At least Tk  150,000 will be required for repairs. We've informed the education officer and are preparing to submit an application to the UNO.  We appeal to government officials, local philanthropists, NGOs, and well-wishers to come forward and assist us."
