
Closing ceremony, award distribution of Nexus Fest 2025 held in Satkhira

The two-day Nexus Fest 2025 concluded in Satkhira, spreading the message of climate change, social cohesion, and youth leadership development.
The guests presented prizes to the winners at the closing ceremony of the festival held on Thursday afternoon at the District Shilpakala Academy premises.
Hafizur Rahman, District Information Officer Jaharul Islam Tutul, Assistant Director of the Department of Social Services Satkhira Md. Rokonuzzaman, Acting Principal of TTC Satkhira KM Mizanur Rahman, District Cultural Officer Faiza Hossain Anbesha, Deputy Assistant Director (Fire Service) Dewan Sohel Rana, Satkhira Program Officer Fatema Zohra, Sadar Upazila Project Implementation Officer Shahinul Islam, Deputy Manager of Action Aid Bangladesh Arif Siddiqui, CEO of Cido Organization Shyamal Kumar Biswas, and former President of SANAC Henry Sardar were present on the concluding day of the two-day program.
As a special attraction, national team boxer Afra Khandaker presented the 'Life Story of a National Achievement Athlete'.
On the second day of the two-day festival, a painting competition and a debate competition were held at Satkhira Government College and Satkhira Government Women's College. In addition, local culture and problems were highlighted through folk performances such as drama, magic, zari songs and theater performed by Bandhan Telemiya at the event premises. Sports and creative campaigns were organized to increase social cohesion. Along with this, there were various sports like football races, bicycle races and father-daughter games.
Present at the event were Action Aid Bangladesh representative Senior Officer Afsana Helal, Cido Satkhira project coordinator Md. Tahiduzzaman Tahid, teachers Deepak Kumar Mridha and Marcus Gain, as well as leaders of various youth groups in Satkhira district.
The main goal of this festival is to reflect the voices of young and grassroots communities in climate-vulnerable regions in local and national policy-making processes. At the same time, it aims to break harmful social stereotypes and establish unity, compassion, and respect, and strengthen coordination between development agencies, government institutions, and the public.
The organizers hope that Nexus Fest 2025 will pave the way for a united and sustainable solution to climate change. Organized as part of ActionAid Bangladesh's A4T (Action for Transformation) program, the festival will play a key role in spreading the message of climate resilience, peace and sustainable development by encouraging young leaders.
