The dispute between the two BNP factions in Heyako Bazar in Fatikchhari has now turned into a bloody clash on Sunday.  Three people were injured in stabbings.

After the clash, leaders and activists of both parties blocked the road by burning tires. This closed the Baroiahat-Heyako-Ramgarh regional highway for about an hour and a half. Locals allege that the dispute between the two factions has been going on for a long time, centered on extortion, encroachment and dominance in the transport sector.

The clash began at around 9:30 pm on Saturday at a restaurant called 'Bhojan Rasik' in the Sarkarpara area of Heyako.

According to eyewitnesses, Nasir Uddin targeted Biplob and stabbed him. Biplob's hand was injured. Later, during a scuffle between the two, Biplob snatched the knife and stabbed Biplob. This seriously injured him in the stomach. Local sources said that upon receiving the news, Biplob's supporters also beat up Biplob's nephew and businessman Shakil Chowdhury Roni, who was near the scene. Later, the three injured were rescued and sent to various hospitals.

When news of the clash spread, leaders and activists of both sides blocked the road by burning tires. This blocked traffic on the Baroiahat-Heyako-Ramgarh regional highway for about an hour and a half. Later, police from Bhujpur police station and Dantmara police investigation center reached the spot and brought the situation under control.

Locals allege that the dispute between the two sides began over control of various sectors in the Heyako area. There are allegations of extortion from people involved in the sand and soil, trees and bamboo, stolen rubber and transportation sectors, as well as smuggling of stolen cattle, yaba and cigarettes. They believe that the dispute over control of these sectors and the sharing of extortion is gradually increasing.

Bhujpur Police Station OC  Bipul Chandra Dey said, "After receiving information about the clash around 10:15 pm, the police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. Later, traffic flow returned to normal. The situation is now calm. We have come to know about the clash between the two political parties through eyewitnesses. No one has filed a complaint or case yet. Police patrolling in the area is continuing."
