Ansar recovers four bottles of Indian liquor at Benapole Land Port Cargo Yard

Jashore Correspondent

Demonstrating round-the-clock vigilance, members of the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP seized four bottles of Indian liquor from the cargo yard of the Benapole Land Port during nocturnal patrols on Tuesday.

According to official accounts, on-duty Ansar member Md. Helal Uddin noticed suspicious items lying near the port's perimeter wall inside the cargo yard at approximately 2:00 am on Tuesday. Recognizing the potential security breach, he immediately informed Senior Assistant Platoon Commander (APC) Md. Hafizul Islam, APC Md. Rakib Hasan, and APC Tapas Biswas.

Responding swiftly to the alert, the senior personnel rushed to the scene and recovered four bottles of Indian liquor cached near the boundary wall. Authorities suspect the contraband was concealed at the location with the intent of smuggling it out of the port premises.

The prompt intervention and watchful surveillance of the security personnel successfully thwarted the smuggling attempt. The seized liquor was subsequently handed over to the Benapole Land Port authorities for necessary legal disposal.

Officials noted that the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP personnel continue to execute their duties with unwavering dedication, maintaining stringent security and combating contraband smuggling across vital national trade hubs.
