Ansar members foil gold chain theft attempt at Kaliakair Hospital

Embodied Ansar members stationed at the Kaliakair Upazila Health Complex in Gazipur on Wednesday, foiled a gold chain theft attempt, capturing a woman red-handed before handing her over to police.
The incident occurred at 11:30 AM in front of the outpatient ticket counter at the upazila health complex, where prompt intervention by security personnel successfully controlled a chaotic situation and restored order to the hospital premises.
According to eyewitnesses and hospital sources, several women attempted to create a disturbance near the outpatient ticket counter around 11:20 AM. Duty Ansar personnel immediately moved to contain the disruption. During the commotion, one of the women deliberately engaged in an altercation with Mst. Sharmin Khatun, 30, who was waiting in the ticket line.
Taking advantage of the situation, the suspect attempted to snatch the gold chain from under Sharmin Khatun's hijab. Sharmin immediately caught the woman red-handed, prompting duty Ansar member Md. Ershad Ali to rush to the scene and detain the suspect. With the assistance of fellow Ansar members Md. Sagar Mia and Md. Masum Hasan, the detainee was brought before hospital authorities.
The detained woman was identified as Mst. Nur Jahan Begum, 27, wife of Chhut Mia, hailing from Dharmagarh village in Brahmanbaria district. Hospital management subsequently handed her over to the Kaliakair Police Station for legal proceedings.
