Annual Nutrition Action Plan Formulation Workshop begins in Kalaroa

A two-day workshop on formulating the 'Annual Nutrition Action Plan 2026-27' has begun in Kalaroa, Satkhira, with the aim of sustainable development of the nutrition situation at the local level and effective coordination of nutrition with agri-food production.
The workshop was organized by the Union Multi-Stakeholder Platform at the Upazila Parishad Hallroom on Monday morning. The two-day program is being conducted on September 21 and 22, organized by the Kalaroa Upazila Agricultural Extension Department and in collaboration with the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN).
The workshop was chaired by Kalaroa Upazila Agriculture Officer Krishibid SM Enamul Islam and was attended by Additional Deputy Director of the District Agricultural Extension Department, Krishibid Md. Iqbal Ahmed as the chief guest.
Satkhira Department of Agricultural Extension Additional Deputy Director Jamal Uddin, Kalaroa Assistant Commissioner (Land) SM Sirajus Salehin and Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer (UHFPO) Dr. Md. Shafiqul Islam spoke as special guests at the event.
Chairmen of 6 unions in Kalaroa Upazila, UP members of reserved women's seats, and local farmer representatives were present and participated in discussions on the nutritional situation and what to do in their respective areas.
The speakers at the workshop said that improving health and nutrition standards at the field level requires not only increasing food production, but also increasing awareness and presence of nutrients in the food produced.
