In Belkuchi, a UP chairman has been accused of misappropriating Tk 2 lakh 32 thousand by changing the development number.

The victims said that 60 workers worked on road construction and soil filling projects from Chan Matbar's house to Masud's house and in Bhangabari cemetery in North Baniaganti village of Bhangabari Uni in Belkuchi upazila. Out of these workers, the Bikash account number used while paying the 1st installment of 20 workers were their 20 Bikash accounts.

The Bikash account used in the second installment was not that of the 20 workers. With the connivance of UP Chairman Zahurul Islam and Project Implementation Officer Majnu Mia, 20 workers' development account numbers were changed and embezzled Tk 232,000.

UP member of that ward of Bhangabari Union Abdur Razzak Khan said that the first installment of 20 workers has reached 16,000 taka in each of their development accounts.

But the second installment amount of 11,600 has not reached their Bikash account.I went to the office and searched and found that without changing the names of these 20 workers, only the Bikash account number was changed and the Bikash account number of the relatives of Chairman Zahurul Islam was installed.He also said that when I repeatedly urged the project implementation officer, he told me that the job creation money has gone to the development account of all the workers.I have nothing to do.

Bhangabari UP Chairman Zahurul Islam was repeatedly called in this regard, but he did not receive the call.

Belkuchi upazila former project implementation officer Majnu Mia said that the Union Committee has the jurisdiction to change development numbers.I can't change development number.Maybe Chairman Zahurul Islam Bikash submitted the bill by changing the number.

Belkuchi Upazila Nirbahi Officer Afia Sultana Kaya said that the PIO officer can tell how the development number has changed.
