A town hall meeting on political etiquette was held in Bagerhat. The meeting was held at the Bagerhat Press Club on the initiative of Development Agency Rupantar on Sunday morning.

Sundarban Academy Khulna executive director Prof. Anwarul Kadir presided over this meeting as the chief guest was District Awami League President and Zilla Parishad Administrator Sheikh Kamruzzaman Tuku.

District Awami League Vice President Advocate Shah-e Alam Bachchu, District BNP Member Secretary Sheikh Mozaffar Rahman Alam, District Council Panel Chairman Advocate Sharifa Khanam and others were special guests. Bagerhat Press Club President Nihar Ranjan Saha, Professor Md Mozaffar Hossain, Councilor Tanya Khatun spoke on the occasion. Project Coordinator Asim Anand Das and District Representative of Channel 24 Ariful Islam and others.

The speakers said that in the next National Assembly elections, the citizens should not behave outside of political etiquette regarding the right to vote and urge them to comply with the words of the political leaders.

Public representatives are called upon to engage constructively with citizens for a peaceful environment and healthy political competition in elections. Workers of every political party are highlighted to behave in a friendly manner without being aggressive. It is requested to implement the promises made by the political leaders in the past to take the country forward in the spirit of the liberation war.

Opinions are given to ensure that leaders and workers do not misbehave with each other and the political image of the country is not destroyed. Leaders are urged to be more tolerant for the realization of people's rights in democratic countries.

Meanwhile, leaders of various political parties present and public representatives promised to work together to prevent political violence.
