Shahjahan elected chairman of Central Cooperative Society in Lama

The elections of Central Cooperative Society Limited (BRDB) Management Committee was held at Lama in Bandarban recently.
District.Representatives of 22 societies out of 71 societies under the Central Society voted for this. The current chairman Md. Shah Jahan was elected as the chairman for the second time.His nearest rival SM Abu Taher got 10 votes.
Continuous polling was held at the BRDB office from 10 am to 3 pm on Thursday (October 17). Upazila cooperative officer Jahangir Alam is the president of the election management committee,district cooperative office inspector Rahim Uddin Lama KCC Samiti Limited.Nurul Karim Arman served as a member of the election management committee.
Representatives of 22 samiti out of 71 samiti voted directly in the election.
At the end of the voting, the official result announcement showed that Md. Sha jahan got 12 votes.His nearest competitor SM Abu Taher got 10 votes. As a result, president of election management committee declared Shajahan elected.As there was no rival candidate,Gias Uddin Vice President, Md. Jamal Hossain,Catchinghla Marma, Vishwanath Dey, Md.Abu Taher, Mabung Marma and Abul Hossain were elected as members.
President of Election Management Committee Jahangir Alam said, the newly- elected leaders will serve the association for the next three years.
