RU VC mourns death of retired Prof Dr Fazlur Rahman Khan

Rajshahi University Vice-Chancellor Prof Saleh Hasan Naqib, along with Pro-Vice-Chancellors Prof Mohammad Main Uddin and Prof Mohammad Farid Uddin Khan, have expressed deep condolence over the demise of retired Sociology Professor Dr. Fazlur Rashid Khan (85).
They acknowledged his significant contributions to sociology education and research at RU, prayed for his eternal peace, and extended condolences to his family.
Dr. Khan passed away on Tuesday at Square Hospital, Dhaka, and was laid to rest at Agargaon Cemetery today after funeral prayers at North Monipuripara Jame Mosque.
A distinguished scholar, Dr. Khan earned advanced degrees from Michigan and Edinburgh Universities. Joining RU in 1969, he served in various leadership roles, including Dean, Department Head, and Senate Member, before retiring in 2005. He published three books, 15 research papers, and supervised numerous projects, leaving behind a legacy of academic excellence.
