Renovation work on Bhuapur-Elenga road progressing slowly, passengers suffering

There have been allegations of slow and low quality in the renovation work of Tk 12 crore from Elenga to Chargabasara under the Road Division in Tangail.
The drivers and passengers are suffering from this and every day, different types of vehicles are being disrupted while moving on this road.
It is learnt that the Roads and Highways Department (RHD) has undertaken Elenga-Chargabasara Via Bhuapur Regional Highway Renovation Project in the Double Bituminous Services Treatment System in Tangail.
The renovation work is expected to be completed in June this year. About 22- km of road has already been completed. However, the road users are not likely to get longer than the benefits of carpeting by using low quality materials without renovating the roads and cracks on the road. Earlier, the Saoj authorities have renovated the road twice last year.
Zahid, a CNG -driver said, when other drivers are busy with passengers, he is busy with the damaged car repair. His car was damaged due to road renovation work.
On the way from Bhuapur to Elenga, the wheel of his car burst into the Palima Bridge area. Later, he is working to buy a new chaka from the adjoining market. Not only Zahid, many drivers like him have been damaged due to the renovation of the road. Many drivers are repairing the car by standing on the road. Besides, the stones of the road are splashed while moving. Besides, the car's work is being broken due to the stone.
Have been seen in the place the people of contractor were working in the Kuchoti area of Elenga-Bhuapur road. Previously carpeted stones are being re -carpeting with small stones. The stones on the road are coming up on the car. The contractor claims 5 percent of the stones will rise. But those stones will be on the road. Once upon a time, those stones would be on the road.
Locals said, the government is wasting billions of taka for doing low quality work in the name of good road reforms without renovating the damaged part of the road. Contractors and officials are benefiting from this.
CNG driver Zahid said, the wheel had to be changed 3 times a week. The way the drivers are working on the road are destroying. The income that is earned throughout the day goes to the world. In the intense sunshine, the road had to be repaired.
Transport drivers said, the previous road was good. However, the part of which the food or the crack was caught was needed to be reformed. Thus, it is not fair to work through the rocks throughout the road.
Faruque Hossain, a sub contractor on the road, said that as per the rules, the renovation of the road is in the direction of the authorities. Many did not understand so it might be saying so. This is what we have to do.
Assistant to the Department of Roads and Highways Department of Tangail, Rubel Hossain said that the work is being done the way the senior officials have directed. This is how bitumen works.
Sinthia Azmeri Khan, Executive Engineer of Tangail RHD claimed that the quality of the renovation work was good. , The renovation work was being done through double bituminous services treatment as the allocation was low.
