
Good Neighbors Bangladesh brings healthcare to remote village in Joypurhat

In an effort to deliver healthcare services to the doorsteps of rural communities, international NGO Good Neighbors Bangladesh organized a special health camp in the remote village of Bakhra in Kalai upazila of Joypurhat.
The day-long campaign was held on Wednesday at the CDP premises in Jindarpur Union, where more than 150 patients received medical consultations and medicines at a nominal cost.
Specialist doctors in medicine, orthopedics, dermatology, and venereology provided care to patients of various ages, including children and adolescents. Alongside the medical services, a health awareness session was held for patients and their guardians.
The event was presided over by CDP Kalai Manager Pranjali Mrong. Kalai Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Md. Mahbub-ul-Alam attended as chief guest and addressed the gathering.
Other notable guests included Dr. Md. Oliuzzaman, Medical Officer from Joypurhat Civil Surgeon’s Office; Joseph Siddiqui Syad, Public Health Manager of Good Neighbors Bangladesh (Dhaka Head Office); Abdul Bari, Chairperson of CDP Kalai; and CDP Medical Officer Mahmudul Hasan.
Also present were PDP Admin Officer Alex and other representatives. The event was conducted by CDP Health Officer Moriom Yasmin.
Patients and their family members expressed satisfaction with the services, particularly appreciating the availability of discounted medicines alongside professional healthcare consultations.
