Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday instructed the authorities concerned to gradually introduce government institutions to the stock market, with the Finance Division tasked to assess the feasibility of including entities such as Chhatak Cement Company.

She issued the directive while presiding over the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) meeting at the NEC conference room in Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.

Following the meeting, Planning Division Senior Secretary Satyajit Karmaker briefed reporters, stating that the prime minister urged the finance ministry to take necessary steps to list government companies in the capital market.

Planning Minister Abdus Salam and State Minister for Planning Md Shahiduzzaman Sarker also spoke at the briefing, while Planning Commission members and secretaries concerned were present there.

Satyajit Karmaker informed that the prime minister directed to remove her name from the Khulna Medical College and Hospital project and ordered against associating her name with any future projects.

In addition, she instructed redirecting funds allocated for a university mural to other purposes and emphasised careful consideration in constructing bridges by maintaining proper height and avoiding the disruption of river flow.
