Sohel Rana Babu, Bagerhat Victory rallies and discussion meetings were held in different places of Bagerhat district on the occasion of July Uprising Day. Prayers were offered in various religious places of worship in memory of the martyrs on Tuesday morning.
The district administration started the day's program by visiting the graves of the July martyrs. Later, after observing silence in memory of the martyrs in front of the Bagerhat Central Shaheed Minar, praying for the forgiveness of their souls, a discussion meeting was held on the procession and independence movement. Bagerhat D,C Ahmed Kamrul Hasan, District BNP Coordinator MA Salam, Jamaat leader Md Yunus Ali, Advocate Abdul Wadud, Manjurul Haque Rahad and officials of various government and non-government organizations were present.
Meanwhile, at 11 am, a colorful procession was taken out from the railroad organized by the Chhatra Shibir and a discussion meeting was held at Dashani.
Khilafat Majlis also took out a procession in the city and held a discussion meeting in front of the Bagerhat Press Club. In addition, the district BNP, district Jamaat, and Islamic Movement also took out separate processions.
On August 5 last year, the Awami League government led by Sheikh Hasina fell in a student-public uprising. Sheikh Hasina left the country for India on the same day.
