Indian Foreign Secretary arrives today

India's Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra is coming to Dhaka today  (Wednesday on May 8).

He will lead India's side at the Foreign Office Consultation (FOC) between Bangladesh and India on Thursday.

An official of the Foreign Office said that Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen and Indian Foreign Secretary will discuss all bilateral issues between Dhaka and New Delhi. The two foreign secretaries will also review the ongoing cooperation between Bangladesh and India in addition to matters of mutual interest.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Foreign Minister in New Delhi. They are also expected to discuss the agenda of AK Abdul Momen's upcoming separate visit.

Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra will meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen during the visit.

In the weekly briefing last Thursday, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sehli Sabrin told reporters that the preparatory work regarding the FOC is now underway. The last FOC was held on 29 January 2021 in New Delhi, India.

This will be Quatra's first visit to Bangladesh after assuming charge as the Indian Foreign Secretary on May 1, 2022.
