BFDC hands over 'Ready to Cook Fish' and Milking materials to PM

Fisheries and Livestock Minister Md. Abdur Rahman has formally handed over 'BFDC Ready to Cook Fish' materials to the Prime Minister at Ganabhaban on Thursday.

The Prime Minister laid emphasis on preparation, marketing and market expansion of ready-to-cook fish to facilitate cooking for working women and provided visionary guidance.

The Prime Minister specially thanked the Bangladesh Fisheries Development Corporation for taking the initiative to market 'BFDC Ready to Cook Fish'.

It is to be noted that a total of 40 species of fish are being marketed as 'ready to cook permanently' at the BFDC Bhawan's fish store in Dhaka's Karwan Bazar, Jatrabari's fish landing center and Chittagong Fishery Port.


Besides, 'BFDC Ready Fish' is being marketed on a mobile basis through 06 freezing vans at 16 spots in Dhaka city.

The mobile spots are–Mirpur DOHS, Road No. 27; Banani, Navy Headquarters and Gulshan (adjacent to Azad Masjid); South Gate of Secretariat; Mirpur DOHS, Mirpur; Swapna Nagar Residential Area, Cantonment; Mirpur Aparajita Bhawan, Mirpur; Dhanmondi No. 6; Azimpur Colony Azimpur; Ladies' Club, Iskaton; Secretary Quarter, Iskaton (Wednesday and Saturday); Adjacent to ACC Office, Segunbagicha; AGB Colony, Motijheel; Shankar, Dhanmondi; Irrigation, Manik Mia Avenue (Friday and Saturday); Dhanmondi 28; Adjacent to Mohammadpur Mother and Child Hospital, Mohammadpur.

Besides, 'BFDC Ready to Cook Fish' is also being marketed through online, e-commerce platforms.

Secretary of Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Mohang Salim Uddin, Chairman and Additional Secretary of Bangladesh Fisheries Development Corporation Syed Mahmud Belal Haidar, Director General of Directorate of Livestock Dr. Mohammad Rayazul Haque, Chief Technical Coordinator of Livestock and Dairy Development Project under Directorate of Livestock Md Golam Rabbani were present at the time.

A delegation led by the Livestock Minister handed over a milking machine used for extracting cow's milk to the Prime Minister on Thursday morning.

The Prime Minister said, "Working women will benefit a lot as a result of this type of program, especially the Ready to Cook Fee programme."
