Top terrorist Aakash Howladar (35) alias Kala Masud , an accused of 26 cases of murder and injury, has been arrested by the police in Barishal on Friday.

He was arrested from Hatim Ali College area of the city early in the morning. Inspector Chagir Hossain of the city intelligence police said that he was arrested after a month's effort.

Akash Howlader (35) is the son of Enayet Howlader of Gilatli village in Charmonai Union of Barisal Sadar Upazila. Akash is known as Kala Masud .

City Intelligence Police Inspector Chagir Hossain told Bhorer Akash that Kala Masud had hacked and injured and killed the target person in exchange of money on several occasions. He is known as the godfather of robbers and hired killers of Barishal city.

So we have conducted multiple raids for the past one month to arrest him. Apart from murder, there are various cases against him including robbery, extortion, drugs, robbery.

Kala Masud also has a few gangs of robbers. In the past one year, nearly half a hundred cases of theft and robbery occurred in Barishal city, but the police failed to arrest him.

Monir Khalifa, a resident of the College Row area of the city, said that the members of Kala Masud's terrorist group are present in several places including Dhopabari Mor, College Avenue, Baidyapara. They commit various crimes in exchange of money. Therefore, I demand immediate arrest of Kala Masud's associates.

OC of Barishal Kotwali Model Police Station. Mizanur Rahman said that the terrorist Kala Masud has been arrested. Arrest warrants are issued against him in several cases. Moreover, the accused in four new cases is Kala Masud. He was sent to jail by the court on Saturday afternoon.
