Noakhali Suvarnachar awarded six successful farmer entrepreneurs in three categories. This program was organized at the head office of Sagarika Social Development Organization of the upazila at 10 am on Monday.

Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) provided financial and technical support for this event and Sagarika Samaj Unyan Sanstha for implementation.

The Executive Director of Sagarika Social Development Organization Saiful Islam Sumon spoke as the chief guest in the event, Bangladesh Applied Nutrition Research and Training Institute (Barton) Subarnachar Divisional Regional Center Senior Scientific Officer Dr. Md. Nur Alam Siddiqui, spoke as a special guest, Dr. Subarnachar Upazila Animal Resources Officer. Md. Fakhrul Islam, Deputy Director of Microfinance of Sagarika Social Development Agency Samchul Haque, Agriculturist Shivbrat Bhowmik and others. Awarding Ajiba Khatun Award to Shefali Begum for her success in rearing indigenous chickens in intensive free ranging system in livestock sector and Ajiba Khatun for her contribution in rearing climate tolerant chickens for safe meat.

Apart from this, Md. Saqib, a successful farmer in farming high-value crops using environment-friendly marching paper and Md. Siraj, was honored for producing crops using climate-adaptive cultivation technology. Md. Sadem Ali for best management in the fisheries sector in lobster farming, Bablu Chandra Kanhar, successful farmer in crab fattening, were awarded Crest cash and certificates.

Speakers in the program said that the country will survive if the farmers survive. To eliminate unemployment, farmers and entrepreneurs are moving forward in the agricultural sector, including modern and poison-free vegetable cultivation, animal husbandry, under the direction of the Prime Minister. Bangladesh will be self-sufficient in food if everyone moves forward in this way.
