Rape of 4th class school girl alleged in Morelganj

An allegation of rape of a 4th grade schoolgirl of Barikhali Government Primary School No. 107 in Bagerhat's Morelganj has been alleged.
It is learnt that on July 3 , a class 4 student of the school, Lamia Akhter (10), daughter of Jahidul Islam, a resident of Barikhali 1st Ward of the municipality, was told by Mehedi Hasan (23), son of the deceased Badsha Mia, a resident of the same area, to take him for a ride on a motorcycle from the road after the school holidays.
Nishanbaria UnionIt is mentioned in the statement that he forcibly raped an abandoned house in a place called MajhibariHarunor Rashid, headmaster of Barikhali Government Primary School No. 107, filed a case against the rapist in the evening when this incident came to light.
Later, Morelganj police station conducted an operation and arrested the rapist Mehdi at 10 pmPolice sources and locals said that Lamiya, a student of that school, had been slandered on the streets for the past few days. Mehdi picked up Lamiya in front of Barikhali No. 107 school after the school holiday on Wednesday (July 3).
It is mentioned in the statement that Lamiya was forcibly raped in that abandoned room while wearing a school dress before realizing anything.
The incident has created panic among the parents of the students.
Morelganj Police Inspector (Investigation) Shahjahan Ali said that the accused mentioned in the statement was arrested last night in the rape case and handed over to the court
