"Partner Congress" held in Goalando with the participation of farmers

A Partner Congress event was held in Goalanda, Rajbari with the participation of farmers.
The Upazila Department of Agricultural Extension organized the event under the day-long Partner Congress Program on Agricultural and Rural Transformation for Nutrition, Entrepreneurship and Resilience in Bangladesh (PARTNERS) project on Tuesday from 9 am to 4 pm.
Golam Rasul, Acting Deputy Director of Rajbari District Agricultural Extension Department, was present as the chief guest at the event.
The program was presided over by Goalando Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Khokon Uzzaman and was attended by Faridpur region Partner Project Monitoring Officer Md. Hafiz Hasan and Goalanda Upazila Agriculture Extension Officer Mehera Afroz Suborna as special guests.
Also present at the event were Goalanda Upazila Cooperative Officer Muhammad Saiful Islam, Upazila Women's Affairs Officer Salma Begum, Deputy Assistant Plant Conservation Officer Md. Zulfiqar Rahman Mia, Upazila Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer Md. Imran Hossain, etc.
More than a hundred farmers, government officials, NGO workers, media personnel, and representatives from various levels were present at the event.
Speakers at the event emphasized on agri-based entrepreneurship development, nutrition security, and rural economic empowerment. They talked about ensuring modern training, entrepreneurship support, and market linkages for farmers under the partner project.
Agriculturist Golam Rasul said, "We need to make agriculture nutritionally-based and commercially profitable. This will not only increase farmers' income, but will also alleviate the country's nutritional crisis to a large extent."
He highlighted the importance of using organic fertilizers in the land and created awareness about the need for more use of this fertilizer in crop production.
Special guest Hafiz Hasan said that more than 200 small entrepreneurs in the Faridpur region have already received training and incentives through this project. He said this program has brought hope to local farmers..
